Jason Schofield - Managing Director at Green Marine (UK) Ltd.

Jason has 34 years’ experience working in the Inshore and Offshore Marine sectors. He attained Deck Officer Class 1 in 1996 and has commanded vessels safely in some of the harshest marine environments, as well as in the strongest tidal currents known.

He has been managing and operating vessels since 1998, including renewable works, oil related works, construction, salvage, fishing and yacht charters, around the UK, Norway, France, Croatia and many other parts of Europe.

Jason has been leading Green Marine successfully since it was formed in 2012, and has expanded the company over the past few years with the addition of several bespoke vessels and in-house engineering services. Green Marine has gained accreditation with many industry and ISO standards, and has also been the recipient of numerous industry awards for their world leading services to the offshore energy sector. Green Marine has provided services to the most successful marine renewable energy developers in the Wind, Wave & Tidal sectors.

Green Marine has been a partner in various funded successful research projects, carrying out Scottish Enterprise funded programs and also a key partner in a €25M Horizon 2020 wave energy project which is the largest EU funded wave energy project to date.

Jason has been an active member of Wave Energy Scotland advisory board for five years, this is Scottish Government funded program to enhance the development of wave energy.

Jason’s knowledge, innovative thinking and expertise in the marine energy sector has been recognised globally as a world leader.
